FAQ
01 What is UV flatbed printing? +
UV flatbed printing uses ultraviolet light to cure ink instantly as it is printed onto rigid materials. Unlike traditional printing, the ink dries immediately, allowing printing on almost any flat surface including acrylic, metal, wood, glass and plastic. The result is durable, scratch-resistant and vibrant in colour.
02 What is the difference between UV direct printing and UV reverse printing? +
UV direct printing applies ink to the front face of the material — what you see is the printed surface. UV reverse printing (second-surface) applies ink to the back of a transparent material such as acrylic or glass, so you view the print through the material. Reverse printing protects the ink from scratches and produces a high-gloss depth effect.
03 What materials can be UV printed? +
Our UV flatbed printers can print on almost any flat, rigid material up to 10 cm thick, including acrylic, glass, wood, MDF, metal (aluminium, stainless steel, brass), PVC, foam board, ceramic, tiles, leather and more. As long as the material is flat and rigid, we can likely print on it.
04 How durable is UV printing? +
UV printing is extremely durable. The instant UV cure creates a hard, scratch-resistant surface. For outdoor applications, UV prints can last 3 to 5 years with proper protection. Indoor use lasts even longer. We also offer protective coatings to further enhance durability.
05 What is the maximum print size? +
Our large-format UV flatbed printers can handle materials up to 2.5 m x 1.3 m (8 ft x 4 ft) in a single pass. For larger projects, we can print in sections and join them seamlessly. Maximum material thickness is 10 cm (4 inches).
06 What is UV DTF? How is it different from regular stickers? +
UV DTF (Direct-to-Film) prints onto a special transfer film that can be applied to curved, textured or irregular surfaces where regular stickers would not adhere well. Unlike traditional stickers, UV DTF requires no weeding, produces full-colour gradient effects and offers excellent durability. It is ideal for promotional items and custom products.
