In This Guide
Acrylic sheet cut-to-size is the raw material behind most signage, retail displays and DIY builds in Malaysia. Signmakers and fabricators order it by the sheet, while DIY makers and hobbyists order small pieces cut exactly to their project — no need to buy or cut a full sheet yourself. Prices range from about RM2.90 for PVC foamboard up to RM11.90 for stainless steel.
This guide covers the colours, thicknesses and special sheets Malaysians actually order, plus how to tell cast from extruded acrylic before you buy.
Quick answer: Clear acrylic sheet custom-cut starts from RM3.90, solid and tinted colour sheets are around RM4.90, 2mm mirror sheets (gold/silver/rose gold) are RM5.90, glow-in-the-dark and colour-changing sheets are RM8.90, and double-colour laser-engraving board is RM7.90. Cast acrylic is clearer and more durable than cheap extruded sheet, and any of these can be laser-cut to your exact size.

Acrylic Sheet Colours
Acrylic sheet comes in solid, tinted (translucent) and mirror finishes, all available custom-cut to size:
- Clear Acrylic Sheet (Custom Cut) (RM3.90) — casting grade, the most common choice for signage, displays and laser engraving, in 1mm, 3mm or 5mm.
- Solid colour sheets (RM4.90) — red, green, grey, deep grey, pink, yellow, white matte and black, all 3mm, for opaque signage and craft projects.
- Tinted (translucent) colour sheets (RM4.90) — blue, green, orange, pink, red, smoke black and yellow, 3mm, popular for coloured signage and backlit panels.
- Mirror acrylic sheet (RM5.90) — gold, silver or rose gold, 2mm, for reflective signage, name plates and decor.

Thickness Guide: 1mm to 10mm
Pick thickness by what the sheet needs to do:
- 1mm — thin overlays, stencils and lightweight covers.
- 1.5mm (double-colour board) — purpose-built for laser engraving; the top colour layer engraves away to reveal a contrasting colour underneath, ideal for name badges and plaques.
- 2mm — mirror sheet and lightweight display pieces.
- 3mm — the standard all-purpose thickness for signage, keychains and small display items.
- 5mm — sturdier displays, stands and cabinets that need to hold their shape.
- 10mm — certificate holders, structural pieces and load-bearing stands.

Special Effect Sheets
Beyond standard colours, a few sheets add a novelty or functional effect:
- Glow-in-the-Dark Acrylic Sheet (RM8.90) — 3mm, absorbs light and glows at night; popular for signage, keychains and novelty pieces.
- Colour-Changing (Iridescent) Acrylic Sheet (RM8.90) — 3mm, shifts colour depending on viewing angle and light, popular for decorative and gift items.
- Gold / Black Double Colour Engraving Board and Silver / Black Double Colour Engraving Board (RM7.90 each) — 1.5mm, built specifically for laser engraving name badges, plaques and awards.

Choosing the Right Sheet
Cast acrylic (like our casting-grade clear sheet) is clearer, more resistant to UV yellowing and scratching, and gives a cleaner laser-cut edge than cheap extruded acrylic, which can warp or craze more easily — always check which grade you are buying if a supplier does not specify. Because every sheet here is custom-cut, you are not limited to standard sheet sizes — tell us your exact dimensions and thickness. For outdoor or heavy-use signage, stainless steel or a thicker acrylic holds up better than thin PVC foamboard; for indoor displays, prototypes and short-run signage, 3mm acrylic or foamboard keeps costs down.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between cast and extruded acrylic?
Cast acrylic is poured and cured in sheet form, giving better clarity, UV resistance and a cleaner laser-cut edge. Extruded acrylic is cheaper and made in a continuous process, but is more prone to warping, crazing and yellowing over time.
What thickness of acrylic sheet should I use?
Use 1mm to 2mm for thin overlays and lightweight pieces, 3mm for most signage and display items, and 5mm to 10mm for structural pieces like stands, cabinets and certificate holders that need to hold their shape.
Can I order a custom size, or only standard sheet sizes?
All sheets here are laser-cut to your exact dimensions, so you are not restricted to standard sheet sizes — give us your measurements and thickness and we cut it to fit.
How do I glue or bond acrylic sheets together?
Use a dedicated acrylic cement or glue rather than general-purpose adhesive, since it chemically welds the acrylic surfaces together for a clean, strong, near-invisible bond.
Is acrylic or PVC foamboard cheaper for signage?
PVC foamboard is generally cheaper and lighter, making it a good choice for temporary signage or backdrops, while acrylic costs a little more but is clearer, more durable and better suited to signage meant to last.
